Of Indoctrination By Tyrants...

Obama's "back to school" speech has been interestingly, and appropriately, compared with the methods Adolf Hitler used to communicate his ideology to German young people. The entire script can be read here.
Notice his impression that the government has the responsibility for setting high standards in education, "supporting teachers and principles".
Surprisingly, he does tell his audience to "listen to your parents, grandparents, and other adults.
One theme I see is that you can never discover the talents you have unless you go through the conventional model of academia. "Maybe you could be a mayor or a senator or a supreme court justice, but you might not know that until you join student government or the debate team."

Hmmmm....wonder what his explanation for Patrick Henry is? You know, the guy who flunked high school but later became the governor of Virginia?

Obama continues, "No matter what you want to do with your life- I guarantee that you'll need an education to do it." Agreed, but what kind of education?

The bottom line is nothing he said was defined. The principles he spoke of are ones we would probably agree with for the most part. The difference is there are no definitions supplied.

I suspect this is just the first of many of Obama's lectures to students.

Another thing I found interesting was the response of conservatives who have their children in public school.
"Thinking about my kids in school having to listen to that just really upsets me," suburban Colorado mother Shanneen Barron. "I'm an American. They are Americans, and I don't feel that's OK. I feel very scared to be in this country with our leadership right now."
(from this cnn article)

Ok, so you want to suddenly have a say in what your children learn after you've sent them from the home?
It was alright when prayer was taken out of public school and when evolution was taught. It was even ok when sodomites were allowed, and they're gonna take offense at the president talking to their children?

Methinks I see some inconsistency here.

Methinks, you are VERY correct. i can't stand the type of people who knowingly and willfully send their children to Public Schools, knowingly and willingly live their lives in "the systemn that be" but gripe about it and say how awful it is that Obama is president the health care bill is passing, or Obama is addressing their kids.
