Sure Don't Hear About This Every Day!

Last year when touring the beautiful battlefields of north Georgia, we visited Oakwood Cemetary. Among the various grave plots, we noticed one that had several headstones bearing the name "Boyd" on them.

As you may notice, the front right headstone bears the last name of "Harris". Here is the inscription:The reverse of this headstone reads:

Although I doubt that we are related to these Boyds, other than by name, I thought this was very interesting. I don't get the impression that this woman was treated like an animal. Although the vast majority of Southerners didn't own slaves, this was the status quo among slave owners.
