Political Miscellaneous

So here we have Obama and McCain as the mainline candidates.....with four other third party candidates.

It seems that there are really two parties within the Republican party. There's hardcore Republicans who are voting the straight ticket no matter what. I would also put people who are voting for McCain, not because they agree with him but because they don't want Obama in office, in this category. The other category of the Republican party is more dedicated to principle and is willing to vote for a third party candidate. The only problem is, the Republican party candidate needs the vote of both sides in order to beat the Democrat.

This situation reminds me a lot of the election of 1860. There was a party split and although John C. Breckenridge won the official nomination, John Bell and Stephen Douglas still ran. The Democrats needed to be united in order to beat the Republican opposition, Abraham Lincoln, but because they were divided, Lincoln walked in.

What exciting times we live in! Throughout these scary times we should all remember that God is in control and His decree will be accomplished.

Aww come on! Not scary!

We're supposed to learn from the mistakes of our ancestors so this time, after we whip the yankees at Manasass, we'll go straight to Washington!

Thanks for the comment.
